Richest areas in Bali

Bali is one of the most visited places in the world, and for a very good reasons. The beaches are picturesque, the climate is warm, the food is good and the party is top-notch. Despite of the many Westerners and foreigners visiting at all times, Bali can be very confusing for non-locals. If you have ever wondered what the richest areas in Bali are, we have the list for you:

West Bali

The most notable cities in Western Bali are Negara, Gilimanuk, Jembrana, and Medewi Beach. This area is the home of West Bali National Park, which is a great place for hikes and is also where you can access a ferry to Java. The region is more isolated than the other ones on this list and noticeably less touristy. If you want to see a more local and less globalized side of Bali, with stronger Muslim influence, this is a great area for that.

Central Bali

Central Bali is mountainous and the most important cities in the area are Ubud, Gianyar, and Bedugul. If you want to get out of the coastal, beach areas and go into the rice paddies and mountains, this is the place for that. The economy here is very reliant on the tourism industry, which is everpresent, but there is still some agriculture occurring in the area. Overall, this is a great and different place to visit in Bali, which is still popular with tourists.

South Bali

South Bali is the most popular and populous area in Bali and is where most of the visitors of the island stay. Here you’ll find s Kuta, Canggu, Denpasar and more towns. This is the central hub of Bali, where most of the fun activities can be found, great beaches, nightclubs, and everything in between. Again, the economy largely relies on tourism and the wealthy ex-pats that reside here.
